Awards

In recognition of the achievements of its members, the Planning Engineers Organisation awards 2 prizes annually. These awards are:

The France Prize - this is awarded to the member of the Organisation who has contributed the most to the advancement of the Organisation.

The Planner Prize - this is awarded to the author of the best dissertation paper submitted to the Organisation.

2005 Award Winners

For his excellent work in creating the PEO website, the 2005 France Prize is awarded to Tim Penrose. Nearly all of the work of the PEO is undertaken on the Internet and the PEO website is therefore crucial to the success of the Organisation. Tim has created an excellent website for us, both technically and in its style. He is most certainly the worthy winner of the award.

The winner of the 2005 Planners Prize to the author of the best dissertation paper submitted to the Organisation, as voted for by the PEO members is Des Bentley, for his paper entitled "40 years, the changes, the present and the future". In this paper Des sets out his observations on how planning and scheduling has changed over the years and how planners today can be much more sophisticated in how they work. This paper makes excellent reading and contains much that we will all recognise.

Congratulations to both Tim and Des.
